The Halls Of Amanti

"Have you ever taken the chance to consider the possibilities?" He asked her, her body and blond hair filling his eyes. They had been preparing for this moment for a long time.

"I'm just not sure about the particulars of what you're asking me." she replied, with an air of nervousness

As the night moved forward, the sounds of sensual moaning and swift heartbeats could be heard throughout the hall, and at its end stood two servants. The ceiling of the hall was lined with red cloth, lining the walls were marble pillars and between each pillar stood a statue bearing a name alongside a number underneath the name.

"It's almost time." one said looking at the other with concern. They had been through this many times already. Perhaps they could not help but think to each other, when will our there master finally prevail.

"You dare doubt him?" the other scoffed back.

"A thousand times before, and a thousand times after. I will never doubt our king for he is good and wise."

As the servants turn toward the end of the hall a large spiral staircase can be seen, They both look to each other.

"It is time!"

Reaching the top of the stairs the pair arrive at a large marble antechamber, with red silk lining its walls and busts of men beneath them. On the other end opposite to the servants was a white liquid that can be seen dripping into a vase and in the room's center, a large white pearl can be seen. Once more the two looked to each other for assuring glances as they walked up to the vase, beginning to chant in unison.

"A thousand times before, and a thousand times after. Have you, oh Thoth, Priest-King of Atlantis and rightful lord of the earth, have you wondered these halls. With the seed of life may you wonder the Halls of Amanti once more!"

Taking the vase in hand the servants begin to pour the liquid on to the peril, and within moments a brilliant flash of light engulfed the room and in the pearl's place, a man could be seen. As the man rose from his position the two servants, proceeded to clothe him.

As he stood up the sounds of pleasure came to a stop and with the stillness of silence in the air, he spoke.

"What year is it?"

The two servants looked at each unsure how to answer the question.

"March 17, 1990. on the Gregorian Calendar," they both answered.

"Gregorian Calendar? what has happened to ours?"

"The Gregorian Calendar is simply the most widely used one of the modern day, my lord"

Looking around he could see the faces of his lives long passed, displayed in splendor for all who cared to see. As he began to move forward he mumbled to himself.

"My time has come"

Making his way to the bottom of the steps another man with similar facial features and body structure waited for him, he wore blue robes and had a long beard.

"Welcomes to the Halls of Amanti, me. Come, it is time for us to rise once again"

As his foot hit the bottom-most step a rapid heartbeat could be heard, engulfing the halls alongside the noisy wincing of pain.

"Pay no mind." the man in blue robes reacted looking up toward his newly born incarnation.

"Tell me what I must know" the newborn demanded as they marched down the hall.

"Atlantis is long dead, it has been almost 12000 years since its fall! The lessers of the world have taken over and forgotten our teachings. There is some good news, the world is more corrupt than ever, with the endless threat of complete and total annihilation more possible then ever we may take back this world and reinstall our glorious empire." The man in blue robes explained, a panicked sense of urgency filling his tone.

"Why haven't we done it yet?"

"Complications across every time, first the advent of monotheism engulfed our major attempt, our second major attempt was marked by an age of empires we simply could not overcome, and our third attempt saw a new challenge".

"What kind of challenge?"

"A pernicious evil calling itself "Auctoritas Impertus" has been hunting down and killing our incarnations, they've labeled us as a "Person of Interest". We've gone through great lengths to secure a safe birth for us this time."

"Are they still around?"

"They go by a new name, The Authority. They have our staff, our tablets, and the defender! You may be facing down a foe far stronger then we have ever encountered."

The two stop, admiring a bright light at the end of the tunnel. The screams of pain had grown louder at this point, and the heartbeat echoing about the halls far more frequent.

"This is it, Thoth. our time has come again" the man in blue robes began to walk away stopping only to gaze at the bright light once more, as newborn both scared and determined began to run for the light.

The bright light from the lamp of the hospital room shinned in the newborn's eyes like the sun in the desert.

"James, he's finally here," the new mother said a smile painted across her face.

"Welcome to the new world, my Lord. Although you cannot go by your original name for it has been tainted by time and ideologies alike. Your legal name in this world shall be Ottoh".

As the night closed and the day began a new, Thoth was reborn.
